We woke up this morning to bright sunshine.  Very lucky because the weather in the Alps is fickle.

First goal is to get to the top of the Schilthorn mountain.  We could probably climb it but decided to take the gondola instead.

The air is clear and clean up on top (~ 10,000 ft) and the views are fantastic.

Here is an attempt at a panorama photo. Click it to pan.

From this spot you can see three famous peaks across the valley; the Eiger, Moch and Jungfrau.

This is the location where the James Bond movie 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service was filmed in 1968.  They still milk the movie publicity like it came out last week.  Lots of exhibits etc.

Mom doing the pistol barrel view.

The building at the top has a revolving restaurant and souvenir shop of course but it also has a 'Thrill Walk' where you can walk along the cliff face just below the restaurant.  Scary at first but you get used to it.

The 'thrill' part is a section that lets you walk a 1" steel cable about 30 feet long while suspended over the cliff face.

There is a safety net of course.  It's almost 10,000 feet up so you don't want to lose customers who slip.

Later in the afternoon we went on a long walk along the high part of the valley to a train station that took us back to Murren.  The walk was beautiful.

The evening ended with a dinner and a musical performance by a guy with an accordion and another guy who played the Alphorn.

A fine time was had by all.
