Up in the Alps

We continued South through a bit of France to our next stop at Mürren Switzerland. To get to our hotel, we rode two cable gondolas up the side of the Lauterbrunnen valley to the Jungfrau Hotel.

Mürren is a pretty little ski town overlooking some of the tallest mountains in the Alps.  We are there between the ski season (just over) and the summer season (just starting).  Every direction you look there is another beautiful view.  

One of the James Bond movies was filmed here many years ago but they haven't forgotten about it yet.  The major battle scene with the bad guys was filmed here at the Piz Gloria restaurant at the top of the Schilthorn. 

This is Rick Steves' favorite part of the Alps.  We even ran into him at the gondola station.  At first he didn't know why I asked to shake his hand (I think I looked like someone who he owes money to) but then he recognized Andrea and he quit looking worried.
